2. daring deco 1920’s fashion show at lougheed house. to celebrate their current exhibit, lougheed house is throwing a fashion presentation that will take you back in time with vancouver’s fashion historian ivan sayers and his one of a kind collection of 1920’s fashion. in support of lougheed house school programs. from accessories to shoes to original haute couture brought to calgary from paris this one is going to be a real treat for any fashion girl.

3. west elm calgary. now open, 868 16 Ave SW (Mount Royal Village). the store has all of the usual favourites from bedding to furniture, dinner ware and room decor, but what is so special about this location is the involvement with the local artist community. from selling local made products to having weekly pop-ups over the weekend there is always a new gem to discover. www.westelm.com

4. sassi anne floral workshops. sarah tollhurst is a talented floral designer, blogger and stylist. she is leading a workshop at bamboo ballroom in inglewood this friday, august 28th at 6pm, (1218 9th Ave SE), this one is all about the flower crown but follow sarah on instagram (@sassianne) for updates on upcoming workshops. you can get as creative as you like and if you can’t find inspiration sarah is right there to help you. she is also available for private workshop parties, which by the way, are an amazing idea for a bridal shower or birthday party.

5. drizzle honey inc.. drizzle is a newly launched small batch honey company based in calgary. aja, who started the company one month ago works in the applied research department at SAIT, last year when she was leading a rooftop beekeeping project she fell in love with honey bees and drizzle was born! the honey comes from alberta’s backyards, this raw, unpasteurized and only lightly filtered honey is coming to us from local and rural beekeepers and urban beehives across the city. retail location are in the works but for now you can find drizzle at market collective and the upcoming etsy: made in canada event at golden acres on september 26th. prices range from $6 – $15 per jar. you can also purchase it online here.
