OH MY GOODNESS!! Has it ever been a hot minute?! WOW! I can not tell you how excited I am to be back on the blog. Last month my computer totally crashed, I was computer-less for two weeks, then we went travelling and the last two months kind of flew by in a complete blur! I have so much to share and show you from all the places we’ve been and all the things we’ve done. Instagram has all the live updates so if you are following along on there you have seen some of the action, but not all! I promise I leave the best stuff for the blog 🙂 This is, after all, MY space where I can be free to create and story tell according to my vision. It’s hard sometimes to keep up with the fast pace of content creation, prioritizing has to happen and paid projects have to take the front seat. Not that I am sorry for it, we work with some amazing clients that let us be free, do some incredible things and travel to beautiful places, not to mention all the brands that we are lucky to work with are brands we admire and love to engage with.

A quick backstory about this set, which we were shooting for Sorel, the photos weren’t meant to end up on the blog but we loved the look and the setting so much that I just had to share them. Sometimes things just come together so perfectly. It’s not hard to be excited when you are in Santa Monica standing on the beach, soaking up the sun, wearing an outfit that screams summer getaway. This look inspired me so much that I finally worked up the courage to go inside one of my all time favourite hotels, Shutters on the Beach. Every time we are in LA and we walk past it all I think about is how lovely it would be to stay there (but also $$$$), I’m not one to easily splurge on a hotel, especially because while we travel it is usually just a place where we sleep and drop off our bags, though don’t get me wrong, a nice treat is always appreciated! Somehow, though I’ve never been inside so we decided to change that. I was dressed perfectly for the part, we had the whole day and we needed to eat lunch. Every inch of this place screams nautical coastal luxury and it literally never ages! Of course I was walking around like a crazy person ooh-in and ahh-ing at everything I saw. I have no problem with being audibly excited in public and when something makes an impression I think it’s even nice to share that with the world. Excitement gets people excited and I know I like to be positively influenced and inspired so… YOLO!

This trip has in fact, been all about exploring the California ocean side, we also spent some time in Malibu, along the Malibu pier, had lunch at Malibu Farm (YUM!) and shopped for some quintessential California things at the gift shop at the end of the pier. A trip back that way is definitely on the books and I can’t wait to show you some of my new favourite LA spots! xoxo

PS. Does anyone else remember these lifeguard chairs making a cameo in the opening credits of the original Beverly Hills 90210? I’ve been scouring the internet for evidence but am starting to think I must have dreamt it.

Thank you so much, we got so lucky with the light at the beach, usually at that time of day the sun is so strong the photos don’t usually turn out that well, but we got a nice pastel vibe thanks to the overcast sky 🙂

  2. It’s really kind of sad that blogs are taking a back seat to social media lately. I totally get it, but personally love taking some time to see more than just a quick snap. Storytelling is such an important part of inspiring others (myself included), so I hope your blog remains an exciting place for you. Keep sharing, because I love reading! xo
