Every time I look at our photos from Croatia I want to cry. Like it’s actually painful to look at them because it makes me so sad we are not back there every moment of everyday. It seems only logical in this case, that we FINALLY shared them with you guys! I am SO SO SO EXCITED to finally share one of the most magical trips of my life to date! During these chilly November days you can bask in the warm, golden glow of the Dalmatian coast. First stop: Hvar!

So how did we end up in one of the most beautiful places in the Europe? We were shooting a wedding. Our friends Ana & Lukasz were getting married and we basically begged them to let us shoot the wedding so we could have an excuse to go. I’m such a workaholic that unless I can also work while I am away I will always opt out for the job vs. the vacation. I tricked myself good because I ended up having a vacation after all, so much that all the stuff we did shoot ended up on the back burner until today! I HAVE been thinking about these images this whole time, though, look at the color of that water! I mean…!

Like what IS this place?!

The wedding was in Hvar and it was one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever seen (you can get a peek at the pics on our photo facebook page right here), but getting there was a little bit of a challenge. Flying all the way from Calgary proved to be an ordeal, especially that we decided to fly one of the first rounds of WestJet’s international flights, yikes! They cancelled our flight the DAY OF, and the wedding the next day we went into full panic mode. With the cancelled flight we also missed our connection in London (and we had to switch airports), ended up booking a flight into Zagreb, from where we jumped on the first flight into Split, still making it there before anyone else. It was a very Amazing-Race kind of moment and even though it was totally miserable at the time I now feel like a total winner talking about it haha! I do hope that WestJet has figured out their London flights by now, though.

If you are planning to fly from North America to Hvar get ready for one long exercise in patience. This was our travel path: Calgary > London > Zagreb > Split > (ferry over) Hvar. It might actually be faster to go to China! Regardless I can not stress enough how fast you forget about the ‘getting there’ part when you set your foot on Croatian soil, especially in Split and even more so in Hvar, when you walk off that ferry it’s like you are transported to a movie set or another time, or some uber luxurious island that somehow the rest of the world hasn’t discovered yet. It’s INSANE!! Like what IS this place?! For those curious, make sure to book your ferry ticket ahead of time, visit http://www.jadrolinija.hr/en/ferry-croatia for all the schedules. You don’t want to be stuck somewhere because you didn’t think ahead. Not that getting stuck anywhere in Croatia is such a terrible thing!

Our travel path: Calgary > London > Zagreb > Split > Hvar

I have so much still to share with you so I don’t want to ruin what is coming but we ended up island hopping, renting scooters, going on Game of Thrones tours (obvi!), visiting some of the most glorious national parks you can ever imagine and feeding a lot of cats. Stick around for this Croatian adventure that we are about to take you on and get inspired for your next holiday, you don’t want to miss this. When they say Croatia has the most beautiful beaches in the world, they haven’t even seen the half of it! For now enjoy these pics of our first day in Hvar, exploring and taking it all in and try to guess if we even used a filter! As for the outfit, I’va had so many compliments on this top and recently discovered that not a lot of people know the Caroline Constas brand, click on the link below to basically shop your next vacation wardrobe. xoxo

wearing: caroline constas top, zara shorts & sandals, stetson hat, clare v bag
