The day has finally arrived and I couldn’t be more excited! If there was ever a secret that was so hard to keep it was the newest Canada Goose x Henry Poole collaboration. These luxury down filled flannel blazers re-define travel attire as we know it and bring us back to a more thoughtful and sensible way of dressing. So much so that when we were first invited to come to England to preview these pieces against the backdrop of the incredible British countryside I was excited to finally reach for some of my finest plaid. It’s always exciting for me to plan a trip around what I will be wearing  and this collab inspired from the very onset.

This collaboration is a culturally rich event in itself, the merging of two celebrated brands who are masters at their craft across the Atlantic, bringing the old and the new to create a piece that will go down as a heritage classic. Everything from the construction to the design to the fabric selections and colours is a result of three years of transatlantic visits, meetings and planning. The garments themselves provide excellent protection from the cold, in true Canada Goose style of course (as if we were expecting anything different) with the perfect tailored silhouette, and were the perfect outerwear on our trip to Sussex where we visited the Seven Sisters cliffs, not to mention perfect for those occasions when you are looking for something more formal but don’t want to sacrifice warmth and comfort, which surprisingly is a lot more often than you may think.

And don’t get me started on the English country side. It’s been a dream of mine to see those green rolling hills, low profile homes that give you the feeling of being in The Lord of The Rings, but I never really knew where to even begin planning that trip. Now that we’ve gotten the taste I’m avidly rewatching episodes of Outlander and getting inspiration for the next one.

Spending time in the peaceful country was of course not all we were up to while in England. We were invited by Henry Poole to come and visit their shop on Saville Row in central London, another British legacy. It’s quite an experience being allowed into the world of bespoke tailoring and royal warrants. Despite knowing just how deep British history is, seeing it in person is really awe inspiring. We were given a tour of the shop, access behind the scenes and even spoke to some of the tailors who have worked for Henry Poole for generations, some even coming back from retirement for the love of their craft. And if you are wondering about the art of bespoke suiting, it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. At the high price tags of $10,000+ this is speciality dressing at it’s finest! Reserved for those people who will splurge a few times a year on something that fits like a glove, molds to their body and withstands the test of time, with the stamp of approval from the Royal family no less! The good news is now you can also be part of this story without having to work for MI:6. As of today you can purchase your very own CG x Henry Poole Men’s and Women’s blazers online and in select stores. xoxo
