here they are. a little late i know. caitlin power, anne b accesories, lauren bagliore and a newcomer (for us) from edmonton nicole campre all showed their fall collections on the runway at the mercedes-benz hyatt auto gallery on october 6 for the second annual parkluxe fashion presentation. the venue wow-ed everyone, if you ever had any doubts about a car dealership being the perfect place for a fashion show, don’t ever think twice about it again. once the cars are out and the lights are up, it is the perfect place for the models, the clothes and the crowds. followed with a really cool basement, industrial after party it was park outdoing themselves yet again. it makes me really happy to see these girls grow, evolve and learn with every show. calgary should be proud to have someone as devoted as kara on its side. together with the fact that she is always open and ready to help local artists and designers without ever expecting anything in return, her and the rest of the team at park are a true asset to the city. some recent developments have shed light on the status of the local fashion scene that really made me appreciate the things that some of us may be taking for granted. with the upcoming move these are just some of the things that i will truly miss about home. for more about kara check out the october issue of avenue magazine or read it online here. for more on parkluxe visit the new gar&mann:l blog by carmen and paul lee, they are staring to write more about what’s happening around the city, i love these guys dearly and hope they will be persistant at continuing the blog so show them some love as well. xoxo
