We all know the challenges associated with dressing for a Canadian winter. A CALGARY winter has the added factor of constantly changing weather. It can literally be -20°C one day and +20°C the next (Yes, Leo, they are called Chinooks). To keep things stylish on top of that is the equivalent of solving a complicated math equation.
Being so close to the Rockies I think we will all appreciate the news that Canada Goose is finally coming to Calgary with a full fledged flagship retail location that will offer their entire selection of coats, and… KNITWEAR! The store will be opening at Chinook Centre in November, marking this only their second Canadian location [Insert proud face emoji], and the end to scratching your heads as what to wear in sub zero temperatures.
The F/W 2017 collection features new fabrics and styles for both men and women along the styles that we already know and love like the Chelsea, Trillium and Kensington. Get ready to see less fur, more shearling and patterns, a look back at some of their most popular archival pieces with new heritage styles and a very special edition Canada coat, celebrating Canada 150. You can get an idea of what the store will look like from our Toronto global flagship opening post, and of course peep all my favourite styles in the Canada Goose section of the blog (you know you love a brand when…). Even though Canada Goose does not specialize in ski gear at all, in fact, please don’t get that down wet, with the coming ski season fast approaching (hold me!) they do have a ski jacket that I absolutely fell in love with and will recommend a thousand times over, meet the HyBridge Sutton! You can see the entire collection on their website, www.canadagoose.com
