VIBE: Newly renovated with midcentury feel, modern Danish accents and California cool vibes
DO NOT MISS: Fire pits in the beautiful shared courtyard and Mad & Vin Restaurant
LOCATION: Central and walking distance to everything in town
The Landsby is the cool California vibe you want from any hotel on the West Coast with the proximity to wineries as far as the eye can see. Our visit was mainly to the town of Sølvang in the Santa Ynez Valley where we spent two days just exploring the town and taking in the kitschy Danish architecture and filling ourselves full of delicious Danish pastries.
You don’t want to miss the food at Mad & Vin, the hotel restaurant. Our dinner was so good we had it again the next night and will just have to come back to try the rest of the menu. It was everything the should needed and wanted. The weather was colder than what you expect from California but the courtyard provided for ample seating and access to fire pits which was a nice way to close the evening and with the Village Suite’s dutch door that opens up right into the courtyard you can have a warm bath within minutes.
In terms of amenities there isn’t much here but I didn’t find it to be a problem in any way with so many fun things to do just steps away from your room. Grab a fresh Danish pastry first thing in the morning for breakfast or jump on the Sølvang Trolley and travel back in time as you learn more about this quaint little town.
