have you ever had a crumpet? i didn’t even know what that was until this past #nyfw. in between shows we took an uber down to the meat packing district to view the newest collection from misha nonoo. more specifically we were actually there to see her newest collaboration with aldo rise, their third together to be exact. we didn’t know what to expect, the whole event was under lock and key and we weren’t allowed any sneak peeks. completely blind we walked into a room full of people at fort gansevoort and quickly realized that there was no collection present, or so we thought. we’re so used to things being a certain way that when we are forced to step outside the norm things need getting used to. fashion is forever evolving and with the growth of social media it’s only natural the two married sooner or later. misha nonoo did just that and the reponse couldn’t be more positive (perhaps we are learning how to grow after all). and thank goodness because when we picked up those ipads and started scrolling through the @mishanonoo_show account we quickly found ourselves inspired by the images and the presentation. in the end it’s all visual. misha told vogue.com that “doing this beautiful, very art-directed shoot in a space that I love, that I feel super-comfortable in, for me, it’s showing more about my brand and my collection and the environment and the ethos and the philosophy than 15 minutes on a runway”. enlisting the help of some of her high profile friends and clients she also went after the massive followings of eva chen, lena dunham and olivia palermo to name a few. she dressed the ladies in her spring collection for the world to see and only needed a few iphone photos to do it. she pioneered fashion’s first #instashow and advocated for the women for women cause at the same time. this is some seriously inspiring girl power! speaking of inspiring make sure to check out the s/s 2016 collection at @mishanono_show (you might want to use your ipad or iphone for this one), those flatform sneakers are just beyond! someone put me on the waitlist. i’ll be needing those <3 for a look at the current aldo rise x misha nonoo collection click here. xoxo

What an inspiration! I love when designers decide to think outside the box and embrace the new.
