WHAT. A. WHIRLWIND week it’s been! I can’t even begin to describe how full my heart feels after spending time with some of my favourite people and celebrating one of my favourite brands. To say that Canada Goose has become part of our family in every sense of the word is an understatement. Ever since our first encounter with the brand it’s been part of many conversations. We live in Canada so naturally the coats themselves are an essential staple to every wardrobe. Even before the blog those parkas were the ultimate in winter luxury. I remember when a friend of mine had her car broken into because she left a Canada Goose jacket on the back seat (!) and saving up for my very first coat.

We got quickly distracted by the sea of celebrities filling the room from Cuba Gooding Jr. to Akon and Kardinal Offishall, and heard Kate Upton was mingling in the crowd next door.

Our relationship with the team has been growing ever since our first trip together to Montana, still one of my very favourite trips to date. Even though our history with the brand is a short one I still feel honoured to be part of the big 60th anniversary celebrations, and let me tell you, Canada Goose knows how to throw a birthday party! We got picked up at our beautiful hotel to head over to the Four Seasons for a night full of surprises, but just how big we were about to find out. Upon arrival we were welcomed with a retrospective of Canada Goose’s greatest hits, from the very first Parka to climb everest to the Vetements collaboration just last year. Ice sculptures were a given of course and in true Canada Goose style, that meant a frozen step and repeat, of COURSE! We got quickly distracted by the sea of celebrities filling the room from Cuba Gooding Jr. to Akon and Kardinal Offishall, and heard Kate Upton was mingling in the crowd next door. Every room gave us a chance to take a walk down memory lane with their newly published 60th anniversary book, now available to purchase at Canada Goose stores and online. More treats awaited us inside as A Tribe Called Red came up on stage with a killer indigenous dance performance and a perfect way to warm up the crowd to what must have been one of the best surprises of the year for every single person in the room. Kendrick Lamar walked up on stage and literally turned the party on it’s head. I have to admit, I almost embarrassingly asked him to take a photo of me and Kardinal Offishall, not having known what he looked like… oops! Won’t ever forget now ha!

After all has been said and done it wasn’t even the celebrities that made this party so special, it was a chance to celebrate with the people we have grown to love as friends. It was a beautiful occasion of bringing us all together in one city, not to mention an amazing surprise of having us attend one of the best film festivals in the world. As we received our itinerary filled with dinners and movies and time to connect with all the familiar faces from all around the world it reminded me how lucky we are to be doing what we’re doing. A true moment to feel grateful for. Scroll down for more from Toronto International Film Festival and photos from one of the best parties of ALL TIME!

This post should really be split up but when I think back on the days leading up to the party everything makes up such an important part of the experience. It was our very first Toronto International Film Festival, mostly because it always falls at the same time as New York Fashion Week. I really love the vibe in Toronto during the festival though, so much that coming back for it is definitely on the table. Somehow we ended up seeing a lot of sports movies, ‘The Carter Effect’, ‘I, Tonya’ and ‘Borg McEnroe’, all of which we are readily recommending to everyone. All based on true stories, one being a documentary so duh! Fave moment of attending the festival outside of staying at a beautiful downtown hotel, eating at cool, photogenic restaurants and spending time with friends, was getting to test drive the newest Canada Goose knitwear collection, to be honest I’ve felt like I’ve lived in these knits since the spring preview earlier in the year, but was nonetheless VERY excited to finally put it on. Cozy, comfy and some even perfectly oversized, it was the perfect answer to the chilly fall weather we’ve been having. Take a look at how I styled my casual film fest looks and all the hotspots we hit when we were in town with our wonderful hosts. Get your fave knitwear pieces online and Canada Goose stores, soon coming to Calgary! WOOT WOOT! xoxo
