I should prelude this post by saying we are currently working in very poor wi-fi conditions. You really don’t think of the internet as a luxury until you suddenly find yourself without it. We have been in Toronto these past few days, furnishing our apartment but due to unforeseen circumstances the internet never got installed, leaving us high and dry without a fast connection for a few days until we could book the boardroom and find a few hours during the day to use it. I would NOT recommend using your phone as a hotspot to upload images (or video) to the internet either, even though the occasion sometimes calls for it. In this case we were unable to do either, but here we finally are!

I was so excited to finally be able to share our photos from Sundance that I couldn’t wait to publish the second post. In case you missed the intro to our latest Canada Goose adventure make sure to CLICK HERE to get yourself caught up. Our last few days in Utah provided for some memorable adventures. We drove about 40 minutes out of Park City to the Sundance Resort, and the birthplace of the film festival of the same name. The resort itself was like something out of a fairy tale. The snow added that special something to really bring out it’s beauty. It was quintessential winter and our Canada Goose parkas went along for the ride, my choice for this day was the Trillium. Nothing, of course, could start without a satisfying, and one of the richest, brunches I have ever had. The spread was so opulent it took a few trips to the buffet to sample everything. We had some time after this feast to nap take photos around the property, explore the area and take in some spectacular views. I am so obsessed with this place I am counting down the days until we can be back to explore it even further. The day ended with a screening of ‘The Polka King’ with Jack Black which made for a nice and relaxing way to spend the evening, until our return to the house through mountains of freshly fallen snow…

The real adventure begun on (what almost was) our last day in Park City. Because we loved the town so much we asked to stay an extra day, good thing too because we would have not been going anywhere either way. The snow kept falling at such fast speeds that the plows could just not keep up. 6 inches of new snow every hour on the hour made Park City a literal snow globe. It was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen but made it quite impossible to leave the house. Cars coming up the hill had to strap chains to their tires and the only way to go was forward leaving little room for error. This meant no big shuttles. The last day’s activity, with the group cut down into more than half  and a few short hours of daylight left we drove out to see the Ice Castles. We heard about them from people throughout our stay but nothing could prepare us for how cool (pun intended) they really were. It was a real sight and I would recommend it to anyone that ever has a chance to go. Growing up in Canada ‘Ice Castles’ often mean exactly that. Lake Louise builds a beautiful one on the lake every year where you can get your photo taken, it has archways and maybe even a moat. These Ice Castles are more like works of art than anything else. They are built from thousands of icicles and are unique to each location, they are built in a maze like structure with loads of photo ops and really fun ice slides. You can see more of this insane place below and in our most recent vlog.

This trip leaves me with a real sense of appreciation for winter, the idea that winter can be experienced on a whole other level when you are dressed for it has been reinforced time and time again this year already and it’s only February. We have a whole lot of winter left and I plan on clocking in some serious miles on my skis. I feel like I have cracked the code to what makes for successful seasons and plan to put it into practice. xoxo
